Job Title: Wastewater Engineer

  • Salary $120,000-$140,000 depending upon experience and qualifications

WeaverTech is a rapidly growing civil-environmental engineering consultancy in the design and construction of large-scale waste and water management systems and industrial land development in British Columbia. Built on a foundation of safety, innovation, and quality, we provide turn-key solutions to our industrial and municipal clients.

 

We are looking for a licensed professional engineer / Project Manager, with a minimum of 8 years of Canadian experience with design and management of water and/or waste treatment facilities. The ideal person for this role is self-driven, engaged, and interested in leading and growing our wastewater design and construction team.  Growth opportunities for someone in this role the potential for business partnership or profit-sharing. This position is based out of our North Vancouver Office, with a small portion of scope to include travel within Canada for client/site visits or field inspections. 

 

Key skills for this role include:

  • Experience with storm water, sewage, and industrial effluent treatment systems design

  • Experience acting as engineer of record

  • Design team leadership experience

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely completion of projects

  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations related to wastewater management.

  • Able to conduct field inspections and collect field measurements

  • Able to inspect operational facilities and provide technical support during the construction phase of projects, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Analytical data interpretation

  • Able to assess treatment needs for unique influents (e.g. TSS, BOD, Ammonia, Phenols, Metals).

  • Manage a team of employees, contractors and external consultants to turn key systems designs and construction.

 

Other desired skills and competencies include:

  • Superior and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • University level English technical writing skills 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Valid driver’s license in Canada with a Clean Driver’s abstract and personal vehicle (non-negotiable)

  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency 

  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.

  • Dedication to safety. 

  • Positive attitude and ability to self-motivate and work productively with minimal supervision.

 

Requirements

  • Professional Engineering Designation – Registered and in Good Standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or other Canadian Province (no exceptions).

  • 8 Years or more on the job experience in Canada

  • Undergraduate degree in applied science or technology in an engineering field
