Weaver Technical Corp. is an engineering consultancy specializing in the design and construction of waste and wastewater treatment systems, heavy industrial facilities, marine infrastructure. Built on a foundation of client service, safety, innovation, and quality, we provide turn-key solutions to government, industry and First Nations clients. WeaverTech is looking for a registered professional engineer with minimum 8 years of experience with design of heavy industrial and municipal infrastructure facilities. The ideal person for this role has experience leading a multidisciplinary design team, is self-driven, engaged, and interested in leading and growing our design team. Working alongside our business leadership team, growth opportunities for someone in this role include moving into a management position and the potential for business partnership or profit-sharing over the long term. The position requires a minimum of 3 in-person days at the office, either in our North Vancouver or near Chemainus BC.
Requirements (No exceptions)

Professional Engineering or Engineering Licensee Designation – Registered and in Good Standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC

8 Years or more on the job experience within Canada (no exceptions)

Undergraduate degree in applied science or technology in an engineering field
Key skills for this role include:
-
Water treatment and conveyance: Stormwater, sewage, and industrial effluent treatment systems. Lift stations, aeration systems, lagoons and water mains.

Solid waste facilities: Transfer stations, composting facilities, landfills
-
Marine infrastructure: Industrial moorage facilities, shoreline protection, bulkheads and diking.

Design team leadership experience

Project management

Able to inspect operational facilities

Analytical data interpretation

Capital cost assessments

Able to assess treatment needs for unique influents, knowledge of key contaminants of concern and familiarized with the design of appropriate treatment systems (e.g. BOD, Ammonia, Suspended Solids, Wood Residues, Hydrocarbons)
Other desired skills and competencies include:

Superior and demonstrated verbal and written English communication skills

University level English technical writing skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Valid driver’s license in Canada with a clean driver’s abstract and personal vehicle (non-negotiable)

Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Self-driven time management and organizational skills
